Upper Mesopotamia: Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Mardin, Diyarbakır & Mount Nemrut
A journey to the lands between the Euphrates and the Tigris: Roman mosaics, the world's oldest known temple, Syriac monasteries, walled cities and the colossal statues of Mount Nemrut, framed by Istanbul at the start and the end.
Arrival in Istanbul
Meet-and-greet at the airport and transfer to the hotel.
Istanbul ✈ Gaziantep, Halfeti & Şanlıurfa
Flight to Gaziantep, the Zeugma Mosaic Museum and the Copper Bazaar, a boat trip on the Euphrates at Halfeti, then Abraham's Cave and the Sacred Fish Lake in Şanlıurfa.
Göbeklitepe to Mardin
Şanlıurfa Archaeology Museum and Göbeklitepe, the world's oldest known sanctuary, then on to Mardin.
Mardin & Diyarbakır
Mardin's old town, Ulu Mosque, Zinciriye Madrasa and Deyrulzafaran Monastery, then Diyarbakır's walls, Hasan Paşa Han, the Great Mosque and the Four-Legged Minaret.
Mount Nemrut to Malatya
The colossal statues and royal tomb of King Antiochus on Mount Nemrut, then on to Malatya, famous for its apricots.
Malatya ✈ Istanbul
Flight back to Istanbul and the rest of the day at leisure.
