Where Two Continents Meet
Istanbul, the city of empires.
Straddling Europe and Asia on the shores of the Bosphorus, Istanbul has been the capital of the Byzantine and Ottoman empires and remains Türkiye's most vibrant city.
Marmara
A living museum on the water.
Few cities hold so many layers of history in one skyline. Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and Topkapı Palace stand within walking distance of one another on the Historic Peninsula, while the Bosphorus links the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara between waterside mansions and palaces.
Beyond its monuments, Istanbul is a city of neighbourhoods: Galata and Beyoğlu for art and nightlife, Karaköy for design and dining, Balat for colourful streets and Kadıköy for local markets on the Asian side.
