Pranzo a bordo. Itinerary (EN)

Day 1. Bodrum: Embarkation at the Bodrum marina and cabin accommodation. Embarkation to the gulet is scheduled only from 4:30 pm. The ancient town dating back to the 12th century B.C. was called "Halicarnassus" and in the 5th century B.C. gave birth to Herodotus, the father of history. Here stood the mausoleum of King Mausolus (350 B.C.), considered one of the seven wonders of the world. The amphitheater dates back to classical times, with a capacity of 13,000 and is still in use. The fortress, once called "St. Peter's Castle," was built by the Knights of Rhodes in medieval times using material removed from the mausoleum. It is definitely worth a visit also because inside is a museum displaying artifacts found on the seabed in the surrounding area. Dinner (no dinner is served after 10 pm) and overnight stay on board in Bodrum harbor. (C)
